Make Your Own Victorian Corset
Jane Campbell, Corsetiere/Designer/Engineer, is offering a corset-making class in March 2009. Sign up today to reserve a seat in this limited class. This is a full weekend course and you will leave with a custom corset that you have made. A complete corset kit is included with enrollment AND you will receive a custom-fitted pattern for your 
corset.
The Course: Two days of intensive instruction, with examples and all corset materials provided. Choose a corset kit, cut it out and put it together. Detailed guidance for each step, with examples and hand-outs to ensure success. Learn about fabrics, boning, busks and grommets.
The Corset: You have admired the Seams Like Magik corsets but wanted to make your own. Learn how we do it, get a customized pattern for you, AND take home a beautiful long-lasting Victorian corset. These are full-steel, lined, hour-glass corsets, reinforced with boning channels and overstitching. Jane develops patterns based on the 5-piece Victorian and customized for your body type.
The Corsetiere: Jane Campbell, Corsetiere/Designer/Engineer, is the owner of Seams Like Magik. She has been sewing for over 40 years and designing and making Victorian corsets since 2003. Her engineering career includes more than 10 years at Kennedy Space Center. Her corsets and other wares are found at Washington Renaissance Fantasy Faire, SakuraCon, Norwescon, Radcon, Ye Merry Greenwood Faire, June Faire and many other events. What You Get: Corset kit (value $75.00) – fabric and lining, spring steel precut ½” boning, steel busk, boning channels, and more. Corset pattern customized for you. Meet other people who make and wear Victorian corsets. Personalized, hands-on instruction. All meals and beverages are included. Professional tools provided include grommet setters and pressing equipment. Cost: $450.00/person
Where: We are keeping the costs down by holding it in Ritzville, WA, convenient to I-90, a short drive from Seattle, Spokane or the TriCities. Free shuttle service from Spokane Airport. Local motels available at incredible low prices.
When: March 28-29, 2009, 8AM-6PM. Special corset presentation and social on Friday, March 27, 7PM.
Bring with you: Sewing machine and basic tools (list provided). Intermediate level sewing skills recommended. Wear comfortable clothes for fittings. Be prepared to look fabulous!
